The Kalo Project
I am so incredibly proud of my baby brother! Koa has launched a really incredible project, The Kalo Project. The idea is to create a highly efficient
artificial pond-field for the growing of kalo under ideal conditions to
promote food independence and cultural ideals of Kalo (taro).
The
Kalo Project's goal is to bring back Kalo to the mainstream of Hawaii
life through the development of an artificial lo'i that allows wetland
style kalo to be grown anywhere on the islands with zero energy cost and
no water waste.
