It's about darn time that I post!
We had an awesome time in North Carolina... here's the play by play.
We left Kahului on April 18th at 8:45pm and flew first to Salt Lake City, Utah, where there was snow on the mountains and it was COLD! We then flew to Atlanta, and finally landed in Raleigh at 5pm. Ryenne was an absolute angel on the plane. When we finally got to the Sheraton Raleigh, we were all exhausted. We slept for 14 hours.
On Friday we drove around Raleigh and Cary. Did some shopping and of course eating!!
On Saturday morning we checked out some model homes in Apex and then hit the road to drive to Wilmington where we met up with my No Drama Mama's group.
Sunday we met up at Wrightsville Beach and all the babies had a great time eating sand and we put our feet in the (cold) Atlantic ocean for the first time.
While in Wilmington, we stayed at the Best Western right on the Cape Fear river. We could see the battleship North Carolina from our window. And the hotel sits where the boats used to unload goods to trains and there were some really cool trains right outside the hotel door.
We headed back to Raleigh on Monday and checked into the Embassy Suites in a different part of town than the Sheraton. We looked at a neighborhood in Cary that has homes designed by Martha Stewart. When we walked into the very first house, it was painted with the exact color that I chose for our condo and I said "I'm Home!". It was just beautiful!
Tuesday we met with a realtor and looked at some homes currently on the market. It seems like a hot market, as homes are usually scooped up within a month!
I was pleasantly surprised by North Carolina - especially Raleigh and Cary. It was way prettier than I had anticipated and I could definitely picture us living there. I really hope to be off Maui by the time Ryenne starts school. I just don't want her exposed to our terrible school system here. Plus, seeing how life could be somewhere else sure is eye opening!
I will post pictures soon!!!
