Walkin!!!

Took Ryenne into the backyard this evening for a little photo shoot. She was pretty grumpy all day because she has a rash so I wanted her to have a little fun time outside.

She's been standing up by herself for a while, but would only walk if we held her hand or if she was holding onto something (kinda a late bloomer in the walking department).

Well she stood up and started walking toward me!!! It happened so fast that I clicked a quick picture and even though it's tilted I'm just so glad that I got a cool picture of her! She must have taken about 7 steps and I'm so proud of her! Then she stood up a couple times. Maybe it's just taken her a while because her arms and legs are so long - she's such a lil monkey. =)

No Longer Home Owners!

Well it's official... we are no longer homeowners! Escrow closed today. I have mixed feelings completely. Change is always a hard thing and I've missed Peter so much over the last few days that he's had to commute. I will miss the things we did to the condo, but I am so t hankful to not LIVE in a condo anymore and have people walking right outside my windows, and all the crazy rules to follow. We can actually have a bbq now! For anyone on Maui looking to buy or sell, I highly recommend our realtor Bev Will. She went above and beyond and was an absolute pleasure to work with.

The floors in our new place are completely in and I LOVE THEM. They look like real wood - it's amazing. We're really having progress and I just can't wait to bring my furniture in and get all the boxes put away.

I got a chance to pull out the camera today and catch Ry playing in natural light. It's great practice for me to do natural light portraiture more and I'm enjoying it. She's so beautiful and such a trooper. I am amazed by her every single day.

"I Hate It When Mommy Packs!"

Ryenne hated it when I had to put her down to pack. Check out that pouty face!!! Crabby but cute....

Just Call Me SuperWoman!

Well, we did it... the Napili Condo is free and clear of all our crap! It was a huge undertaking, and Peter wasn't able to get any extra days off from work. I powered through and made lots of trips out to Haiku. Not trying to gloat or anything, but I got a helluva lot done all by myself!

Now I have to concentrate on the repairs that the buyer requested. The Reverse Osmosis system has leaked a few times and everytime I've paid a plumber to come out, they can find nothing wrong. So I have a receipt on there that the plumber wrote that says there's no leak. I hope that's good enough for this lady. I offered to just take the whole thing out - after I've already paid $500 in plumbers fees and a new faucet - but she insists that she wants it so hopefully this receipt will show that I have done everything I can to prevent leakage from it.

The other thing she wants fixed is that the 2nd bedroom fan wobbles on it's highest speed. It's not the fan blades though, the fan just isn't completely flush to the ceiling. So I have to have an electrician come out now. The place is nearly perfect... why does she have to be so picky?

We are still about 2 weeks away from the Haiku place being done. But the computer room, Ryenne's room, and the master bedroom are all done so we've got all of our boxes in Ryenne's room until the rest of the house is done and we can start putting things away. Then we'll go and clear out the storage unit in Kahului and bring all of that out to Haiku as well.

I've been soooooo super good about not going overboard with this project. I'm just keeping things simple so that we have a clean house to live in. Then I can start little weekend projects myself of things that we want to do to it.

My brother Nick is thrilled to have Ryenne so close. I just love having him near her because I know that it makes his day better to see her. She's getting better about not crying around him and now she smiles at him and talks and makes her 'twinkle eye' face.

The Twinkle Eye looks a lot like Stink Eye, but she does it when she's happy. LOL. Funny little girl.

It's a super, duper rainy day today. I'm at my in-law's house trying to relax just a little bit. I'm really sore from moving yesterday. I did pretty much everything myself.

I'll post pictures when my computer is back up and running.

Lunch!

The light coming in from the sliding door was just perfect so I grabbed the camera! It was also a fun experiment with natural light :)

Ry loved her noodles with broccoli!! yum...

Baby Steps!

Ry took her first few steps by herself on 7/11! I'll be honest I'm a little miffed she waited to try it on her own while she was being babysat by her grandparents and I missed the FIRST steps, but she did it again when I came to get her. So proud!!!

Progress!

The Haiku house is showing some progress - FINALLY! The tile floors are completely out (sorry Mom! Those were nasty!!!) and the walls have been cleaned, holes spackled, and ready for paint. The paint has gone up in the hallway and it's just perfect. I was a little miffed since K-Mart doesn't sell Martha Stewart anymore... now Lowe's has a Martha line but they aren't the same colors. So I got the in-house Lowe's brand in Prudence and it's one hell of a match to my beloved Mercury Glass!

There was a huge rats nest under the old tub so I'm really happy that the tub was removed and the bathroom is getting a much needed facelift. We're putting in a new sink/vanity and the new deeper tub is going in. And it's getting painted a lovely shade of Tiffany Box blue!

Ryenne's paint will go back to the vintage washed green/pink that we had in the camp house. The rest of the house will be done in Prudence paint.

I know that there will be lots of weekend projects to get this place more homey, but hey, progress is progress and anything is better than what it was.

Party Like a Rockstar

Ryenne loves her new sunglasses. She takes them off and on, off and on. She doesn't keep them on for long but she thinks they're so cool (Thanks Uncle Shaun!).

I've had her in Haiku with me everyday and she's been such a grump. I tried to kiss her but she wouldn't crack a smile.

I whacked my hair off! It was about down past my bra strap and I cut it to above my shoulders. I feel liberated!

About Damn Time!

I haven't been posting much recently because we got an offer on our place and we're moving SOON! Our escrow closes on July 26th and we're moving back to Haiku. I've been over there everyday busting my @SS trying to get that darn house ready. It's a much bigger undertaking than I anticipated but it will be good.

Lanai

The day after Ry's party we headed off to Lanai - one of our favorite getaway spots - for our 10th anniversary on June 11th. We had a great time and Ryenne got Lei'd!

Ryenne's Birthday

I was soooo bad and didn't take pictures at Ry's birthday party. It was just too busy. But I did catch a shot of the table setting!
