Kai Dialogue Pt II - Death of the Giraffe

"Hey there Friendies... "

"Hmmmm, Mr. Giraffe you're looking mighty tasty!"

"Mom, doesn't Mr. Giraffe look yummy?"

"RAR! I Eat Mr. Giraffe!"

"Mmmmmmm"

He just cracked me up when I took these. He grabbed that giraffe so quick and shoved it in his mouth - I was just happy to catch it all! He's so big.

Both the kids have Conjunctivitis - I think Ry caught it at school or at the gym on Friday and she had monster sized eye boogies all weekend and then started on meds. I was hoping Kai wouldn't catch it but he did. And we went on an adventure to get him meds today cause CVS was out of it so they had to call around to find it. Poor kid.... never seen eye boogies so huge!

Yes it can be done

Kai Dialogue Pt I

"What's that Mom? You want me to make cute faces at the camera?"

"Sure, sure... no problem. Am I cute?"

"And this HAS to be cute!"

"What? You want MORE cute? If those aren't cute enough then I just don't know what to tell you Mom."

"You want me to pose on my tummy, huh?"

"I guess I'll just lay here and twittle my fingers while you take photos"

"Oh just a sec, I'm being distracted by the TV for a moment,"

"Yeah, howabout a nice roll for ya Mom?"

"There we go... I'm on my back now. You happy?"

Our Day...

So I just lied a little bit about all the pictures being from today. I think the one of Peter below was from yesterday... but it's so hilarious that I had to include it. Doesn't it look like he thinks the coffee is just awful? LOL

Aw well... still handsome even with that funked up face.

We went and cruised South Congress Street today. Just below downtown they call it SoCo and it's kinda hippy-funky. We just stayed a short time cause we were hungry... but there was this candy store that had a sign saying "Monkeys always Welcome" and since Ryenne is such a monkey freak I asked her to stand in front of it. Well there was a little girl next to me that was licking and ice cream cone and Ryenne wanted it so she decided to be a stinker and not look at the camera. So this picture begged for some moody editing to get it just right.

Oh and Kai boy.... eating like a CHAMP! He totally digs his rice cereal. Cries if he doesn't get it. He likes it mixed with baby food bananas. And today at lunch he tasted avocados which he adored. Gonna be four months old soon... can't believe how fast it's all going!

And lastly, you're prolly wondering what all the pots and pans are doing on the couch. Well... if you've ever been to my house, you'll find that everything is all over the place cause we like to have fun. Me and Ryenne and Kai were playing "drums" and we had all the pots and pans out with spoons and were banging away and singing. It was soooo much fun!

On the potty front, Ryenne has been going all day. She did have a couple of accidents, but she's doing great and I'm so proud of her! Now we gotta work on the poops...

Fallen Out of Love

It pains me to death to admit this... I have fallen out of love with my dog, Chico. Everyday, he is the thing that takes the smile off my face. He is the thing that I am terrified will harm my children.

At one time I thought of him as my child - of course this is before I had kids - and that I would love him to the very end. But all it took was one bite - one drop of my baby's blood - to realize that he is a dog. Plain and simple - a dog. And now I wish he were outside all the time - away from me and away from my kids.

You'd think it would be simple to just get rid of him. But my conscience won't allow me to just take him some place where I wouldn't know what happens to him. My head aches with the conflict inside that I did once love him and now I don't. I don't view myself as a cruel person. But I did put him up on Craigslist once to find him a good home and I was greeted with a bunch of hate email. It's so hard... I just don't know what to do...

Dallas! WooHoo!

A big, huge, giant THANK YOU to Bobby, Amber, Skyler, and Kinsley for letting us crash at their place while we were up in the Dallas area. It was sooooo awesome to hang out with you guys and watch the kids together. You're welcome at our home anytime!

Ryenne and Skyler remembered each other from the zoo and the millions of pictures they've seen of each other. They were instant buds. In fact, within the first two hours of being there, they had run head on into each other TWICE. Yes, they were so enthusiastic about running around corners and playing tag that Ry got her head bonked and Skyler got not only a bloody lip, but her first black eye. I promise to edit that out in your family pics Amber!

And.... they even had matching Curious George jammies and Glowworms. Too cute. I got some jammie pics on the little camera but I'm swamped with editing for now - so those will have to wait.

Ryenne wanted to be a part of the Benson Family for their picture!

I love this shot of Peter and Ry... I think they were looking for fish?

Here we are with our crazy little girls!

Peter, thanks for nabbing this shot. I love it!

Kai boy all dapper in his tie onesie

I'm still working on editing Amber's family pictures. Her sneak peak will appear on the Photography Blog in the next few days...

Firsts

Ah.... the perfect day to post about "firsts". Kai and I watched the inauguration and it was awesome. Can't help but feel patriotic after that!

Anyway, I thought I'd share that over the weekend Kai boy learned to roll over!! He rolled from his back to his tummy and then back over again several times. AND he also tasted rice cereal which he adored! Thank you Amber for sharing Kinsley's rice cereal with him =)

And Kai isn't the only one who has a first... Ryenne has her very first framed masterpiece! Pops and I fell in love with this painting she did at school and we had it framed. Isn't it just gorgeous? I'm so proud of my little artist.

Pics before Dallas...

These were all taken just prior to leaving for Dallas (maybe a couple the day before). Just thought they were so darn cute!!!

I love Kai's little tummy sticking out...

She is really into these funny faces lately!

Hey Cupcake!!

Today we went venturing out near downtown in an area called SoCo (South Congress). There's a place there called Hey Cupcake and they sell cupcakes out of an AirStream trailer! So much fun... Ry loved her chocolate cupcake - and Kai took a nap. =)
