Ramblings...

Here's a look at how quickly Ry can get irritated with the camera! haha

We have just entered into "Princess" stage and she is obsessed with her Cinderella dress and necklace. We now watch the DVD everyday. I don't mind... Cinderella is one of my favorites!

And Mr. Kai Boy.... he's been my muse lately. He lets me take pictures of him as much as I want. I love how his hair is getting all unruly. Such character!

Kai likes to stand up and search for toys in the toy box himself now. Growing up fast!

And below... last nights dinner - Chow Funn. It came out pretty darn tasty if I do say so myself!

My New Etsy Shop

I am in love with Etsy. The creativity there boggles my mind. I have created my own Etsy shop to sell fine art prints that are totally un-portrait/wedding related. Just things that make me happy! You can visit my new little shop HERE.

The Cuties

Today was grocery shopping day! It was a cool (not!) 104 today. The kids are troopers.

We hit up Costco first and cruised the samples to get some lunch in our tummies. They had some good stuff today! Apple pie, pound cake, salmon salad, fish, meatball sandwhiches... good stuff.

Then we went to HEB to do most of our shopping. The kids always love going grocery shopping. So many colors and textures. And I love how they can both fit in the shopping cart. Makes it so much easier for mommy!

I was hoping for some cantaloupe or honeydew but none of them had that sweet "ripe" smell. So I'll have to keep looking. They did have some nice berries though!

So that ended up being dinner tonight. Chicken with a salad of almonds, oranges, baby greens, blackberries, and blue berries. It was mighty tasty.

We cooled off in the neighborhood pool. We've been swimming every evening. The kids love it and sleep so well. This is good for me!

Tomorrow me and the kids are off to Horseshoe Bay to visit some friends here from Maui and to play with Auntie Nikki and the girls. Should be another great day tomorrow!

Wow...

Michael Jackson died today. Cultural Icon. Music God. King of Pop. WOW. 50 years old.

When Thriller came out I was like 2 or 3 years old. It rocks now just as much as it did then. Entertains the heck out of me.

So tonight in tribute to the King of Pop, we played Michael Jackson's album through dinner and danced and laughed and reminisced. And Kai boy was rockin' out in his high chair. So we'll always be able to say that the first time he danced, REALLY DANCED, was to Michael Jackson. Very cool.

I'm sure his music will continue to influence future generations and will always inspire. I hope his soul is resting and free. He seems to have been a tortured soul. Keep rockin' Heaven, Michael!

Tattoo???

I have this book illustrated by Becky Kelly. Inside is an image very similar to this one. Only the little girl is hugging the ladybug.

I have been wanting a tattoo for quite some time, but didn't know exactly what I wanted. Well I think I figured it out! I would want the little girl to be a dark haired little girl, and the ladybug a dark haired little boy. And they would be hugging each other. My little girl, and my little boy. And I'm thinking on the inside of my wrist. Like a bracelet but on the other side.... good? bad? thoughts?

Daddy's Day

It's been a nice, relaxing day today! The kids slept really well so I woke up in a fresh mood ready for the day.

My parents came over and we had a great southern breakfast. Mmmm.... sausage gravy. It was nice hanging out with them this morning.

Ryenne played with Kupono and decided to put her Superman cape on him. It was pretty cute!

When Peter woke up, I had the kids in their new black shirts and gave him his to open. It was really cute seeing the three of them matching up this afternoon. We took a little drive to Buda while the kids slept in the car and talked about how we're glad that our lives are permanently linked together and how happy we are being together. It was really nice! It was such a beautiful day today!

12 YEARS!

So on June 11, 1997, Peter and I met. 12 years ago if you can believe it.

The past 12 years have been filled with lots of ups and very few downs. Peter is my best friend in the entire world and such a great daddy and husband. LOVE YOU BABE!!!

These two images are from 1997!!!

And my old high school website is still online. I found this picture of Peter as a baby. I think this just confirms how much Kai looks like daddy!!

The PARTY!!!

Ry had a great party at Gams & Pops house on Saturday. It was a super hot day... I think the hottest  day of the year so far. It was 97! Thank goodness we had the slip & slide to play in!

Auntie Kau'i pushing Ry on the slip & slide.

Beautiful Makena...

Ry's friends, Jackson (left) and Michael (right) - it's so funny on her daily report from school it says the names of the kids she played with that day. Every day it says Michael & Jackson. :)

Makena & Big Sister Kaeli. These two are SO PHOTOGENIC!!!

Super Ryenne! These were really ono cupcakes!

One happy 3 year old!

I adore this picture!!! I had her wait by Pops while Peter got her gift out of the back of the car.

Here is her gift from Mommy & Daddy!

Some help from Daddy.

The birthday ended up taking the whole weekend. It was just great! Friday was her real birthday, Saturday was the party, and she didn't want to open gifts until Sunday. And that took pretty much all day cause she'd open one and want to play with it and wasn't interested in all the rest until a while later. She sure knows how to stretch out the fun!

June 5th - Her Birthday

"Eat your dinner or you're not getting cake!"

So now she's eating her dinner!

She's SUPER RYENNE!

Make a wish!!

Okay... that's Ryenne's piece of cake!!

My sweet 3 year old! Notice the purple hair extensions!! :)

Gag Reel

This is what you get when you mix two grandparents, two grandchildren, and three crazy dogs!!!

On the Move

When Ry was at school (her last day, see previous post) I figured I'd grab the camera and get some of Mr. Kai Boy on the move around the house. So we started at one of his favorite spots - standing at the back door looking at the back yard. He thinks this is way cool.

Love this one of him crawling away. Notice his onesie isn't snapped. He rarely stays still long enough for me to snap it.

Looking up at something... I forget what...

And these below... well let me explain first. He loves to climb on the fireplace. Mostly I'm sure because I don't like it and don't want him to get hurt on the rocks. But he thinks they're too cool. So I let him climb on them and got some really funny expressions. I'm pretty sure this is what he was thinking...

Me: "Kai, don't go on the fireplace, honey."

Kai: "Well, what if I just lean on it, Mom?"

Kai: "Or maybe just put up one knee, is that okay?"
Me: "Oh Kai boy... please don't climb on that!"

Kai: "Well, what if I just come all the way up since I'm halfway up already. What do you think, Mom?"

By this time, he kept crawling a few inches at a time and then would glance over at me to make sure it was okay. It was pretty funny.

Ry's last day of pre-school

Ryenne's last day of pre-school was on June 2nd. It was a wonderful school year for her! I don't think she quite understands yet that she'll have different teachers through the summer and next year.

Pictured at top is Ry and Ms. Darlene. On the bottom is her and Ms. Tracy. Both of these wonderful women did a wonderful job all year. Ry and I thank you both for being so wonderful!!
