Pepper Two's Ultrasound

We had our ultrasound this morning at Kaiser. It was really cool to see P-2 moving around so much. This is one feisty baby! We got a cool shot of his/her face which was really neat. P-2 has Peter's nose! We didn't get a shot like this with Ryenne so this is something new. And we didn't find out the sex - it's going to be a great big surprise for everyone!

Ryenne really enjoyed the appointment and was talking to P-2 through the whole thing. She liked to see the baby move around and got very excited.

After the appointment, we drove Peter out to work for his last day. I'll have more to post on that later along with pictures!

Sayin' Good-Bye

We've spent the last few days making sure that Peter gets to say goodbye to everyone we hold near and dear. I think that it's not moving to a new place that bothers him, but the people that he's going to miss. Thank you everyone for throwing the cookouts and fun things to do so Peter could really enjoy his last few days on Maui.

We spent Friday at Polo Beach having a BBQ with Peter's friends and coworkers. It was an absolutely beautiful day and I made sure we put on lots of sunscreen!

We met Peter after work on Monday and went to the beach! It was such a gorgeous HOT afternoon and the water had to have been about 85 degrees. It felt like a warm bath!

Yabba Dabba Doo!!!

I was really bummed that Peter was going to miss out on our ultrasound coming up. I called Kaiser and told them that he's leaving and I wanted to know if they had any cancellations.

I think the nurse felt bad. She put me on hold and called his Honolulu office (did I mention there is only ONE ultrasound specialist for the entire state for Kaiser?). She came back on and said they could squeeze me in on Wednesday the 28th at 9am! The day before Peter departs... I am so thrilled that we'll get to do this together!!!

I just hope that baby doesn't show his/her stuff. It's fun not knowing!

It's JUST a DOG Damnit!

So I thought booking Peter's flight was going to be easy... well it wasn't!

USAir had the most direct flight - Maui to Phoenix to San Antonio. Easy! ... or so I thought.

I decided to call them to get their pet policy before I booked. Good thing I did because they don't deal with pets coming or going to Hawaii - period. I explained that there's no quarantine going out of the state... doesn't matter. They don't do it.

So I get online and see that Hawaiian has a flight Maui to Phoenix. Call them and they have an embargo from April to October. No pets to hot areas. But they do go to LA. Research a little more and find a flight from Honolulu to LAX. YAY! So check on that and book it with Hawaiian. I had enough miles to get a free flight from Maui to Honolulu for Peter. That part was all set.

Then check on LAX to San Antonio.... called several airlines. US Air wants over $400 for the flight. Southwest is cheap - call them and they don't take pets AT ALL. FINALLY! Got a flight on United LAX to San Antonio DIRECT. It's an extra $100 for the dog. Ah well... at least it all works out. PHEW! I'm exhausted! haha

Felt P-2 Move!

Last night I was up watching Saturday Night Live and laying on the couch and P-2 was being SUPER active! I looked down at my tummy and I saw the entire thing move! An arm, foot, or maybe head moved across my belly and it looked like I had a huge bubble moving around. It was too cool.

Score!

We spent the night at Marissa & Eugene's house last night and I found Ryenne's infant carseat! So I brought it home and cleaned it up and it's perfect. So that will save us $100 from buying another one. YAY!

Meanwhile, my hunt for a good double stroller continues. I don't want one too wide (the double wides can't fit into many doors) and the long limousine ones are ridiculously hard to maneuver. I saw this one and it looks pretty damn cool! Kinda pricey so I'll want to check it out in person somewhere when we move.

On another note.... I'm developing carpal tunnel again. I had it really bad with Ryenne the last 3 months and now it's decided to show up this time around too. It hurts day and night so I think I need to get some wrist braces... yuck.

Fun in the Back Yard

Today Peter was off so we decided to FINALLY do our chore of emptying out our storage unit in Kahului. So we did that and Ryenne was a good girl in her stroller while Peter and I moved the furniture.

So we got her a caterpillar sprinkler thingy and she's scared of the sprinkler part. So we left it off and she was playing with it today and wrestling with it and hugging it. I got some great shots of her today!

Love the smiley one and isn't the one of her looking right at the camera funny? It just screams, "Yes Mom. I'm going to be TWO. I'm going to be terrible!" LOL

Progress!

YES!!!! This is Ryenne napping in her own bed! YAHOO!!!

I've discovered that she likes pushing herself up against the edge and likes a pillow spooning her on one side. I think she feels more secure that way.

She's gone to sleep in her bed the past few nights but has woken up and gotten into our bed. This is HUGE progress for her! I'm hoping with our big master bedroom in Austin she can have her little bed in our room, sleep in her bed, and P-2 will sleep on his/her own in their porta-crib. This is completely wishful thinking but I'm hoping it will happen!

Peter's official start date at the Westin Riverwalk in San Antonio is June 2nd! So he'll be flying out of Maui on the 28th or 29th to have a couple days to check out San Antonio. I can't buy his ticket yet until we know if he's taking his car or if we can get the thing sold here on Maui (which I'm hoping for). The pay isn't too great.... $11.50/hour... but we'll make do! I have several album orders coming up over the summer and have started my Google Adwords for Austin. I'll figure out a way to make some extra dinero. But hey... if given the option of being poor in an expensive place versus a cheaper place I'll take being poor in a cheaper place anyday! The food is cheap, the gas is cheaper, and we'll have a gorgeous house with lots of things to do.

21 Week Check Up

Began the morning with Kaiser calling to say my 9:45am appointment was cancelled because the doctor called in sick. I asked if I could get in on another day and they said they're booked solid for two weeks. I'm supposed to see a doctor every 4 weeks and it's been about 5 weeks since my last appointment.

She put me on hold and said that I could see the on-call doctor today and I agreed. We went and we got to hear the heartbeat really strong for the first time. Wiggly baby wouldn't let us hear it before. It was so cool. Ryenne got super excited and started yelling "Baby! Baby" and jumping around.

My uterus is measuring spot on! And I haven't gained any weight - down 4 pounds since February. So that's awesome!!!

We've Entered the "Terrible Two's"

OH MY GOD.... we've hit the dreaded terrible two's HARD! My daughter has turned into a raging lunatic. I swear she has bi-polar disorder.

I hope I have the strength to get through this!!!!!!!

Moving Updates & Wild Child

I got in touch with Island Movers - well actually they called me back - and we arranged for our move-out date!

I asked if June 15th was available and the guy says, "No, it's a Sunday we'll all be in church!". So I say OK howabout the Friday before? "Friday, the 13th. Ok... well if you want that one..." NO!!! Ok... let's just go with Monday the 16th. hahahaha

So they'll be coming June 16th to pack and load all of my stuff. I need to have all the lose stuff packed by then which won't be a problem. I'm hoping to have a moving sale to get rid of some stuff too.

So I'm glad that part is DONE!

Ryenne is a total wild child. She must be getting two year molars or having some kind of change going on because she has some really mean moments. She wakes up mad and goes to bed mad. She hits and bites. She refuses to let me put up her hair or brush it and it's starting to get knots in it. She's wearing me out!!! But just when I think it can't get any worse she gets all lovey. It's so strange. I've instilled "The Naughty Spot" and use it daily. It's tough but I think it's working a little bit.

I'm doing good - just really tired. Averaging about 6-7 hours of sleep per night unless Peter is off or working late in the day and can give me an extra hour or so while he watches Ryenne. I'm scared of how it's going to be like when he goes to Texas before us and I have Ryenne all by myself! AAAUUGGHH! LOL....

She's grown an obsession with the Teletubbies. If she could she'd watch it 24/7. It's a weird show with weird creatures but she loves it. Go figure?

Had A Good Day

We had a really nice day today. Woke up this morning to a nice email from the HR Director at the Westin San Antonio Riverwalk Resort and I really think Peter is going to get a great job there. It's a commute, but it's less of a commute than he has now and it's a beautiful property.


After the email Peter mentioned that he saw my post about wanting cheese enchiladas so we all went to town and he bought me my cheese enchiladas at Pinatas and we hung out a little bit in town before he met his friend to carpool to work.

Came home and took Ryenne into our wading pool. She thought it was more fun to take her buckets and dump water on the dry towels though. It was pretty funny. I think she learned her lesson though after she started getting cold and all the towels were wet! We then went and fed the goats and looked for cats in the neighbors yard.

I checked Peter's email (he doesn't mind, really!) and got a glowing review letter from his boss at the Westin. I'm so proud of him!

The Latest Craving

So far this pregnancy has been pretty identical to my last one. I crave gallons of bubbly water. It MUST be bubbly! The difference this time though is I'm not repulsed by ALL Mexican foods.

This time around, while most Mexican food still bothers me, I have a hankering for cheese enchiladas at least once a week. Maui Tacos sauce is still a bit spicy for me, but I've found that Pinata's is just perfect. And they put plenty of lettuce and tomato on it and then I like to mix everything up into a perfect mess and add a little avocado.

God that sounds soooo good right now. Too bad I have ZERO makings here at home. I think I must go out for some tomorrow...

My New "Do"

My hair was just getting too long so I got to get my hair cut today and had highlights put in! It's AWESOME!
