We're Moving to Austin!

Well... we found our dreamhouse. Or I should say that I found it and told Peter I wanted it. Hahaha

After driving all around Austin (to all the places I could afford anyway), I found a neighborhood I fell in love with. It's in South Austin about 20 minutes outside of town. It's called Olympic Heights and all the streets are named after olympic athletes. Anyway, the neighborhood is about 2 years old and they just closed out the neighborhood. So we checked out some resale homes. The neighborhood has a swimming pool, a toddler pool, open green spaces, and a playground. It has great sidewalks and you can really see the sense of pride that the homeowners have. All the yards are so pretty!

So here's the house I fell in love with. We put in an offer and it was accepted today! We close in mid-June and should move over in July. Peter might be coming earlier to start working.

I am so excited and nervous all at the same time! What a huge leap for us.

Cameron Park Zoo!

We drove to Waco to meet with Amber, Bobby, and Skyler - friends on my internet mommy's board. It was so cool! After getting lost and being totally late, we met with them at the gate and although it was our first time meeting in person, it felt like I've known her forever!

The girls are instant friends and enjoyed the zoo so much. Wasn't too impressed with what I saw of Waco though...

Back in Reno and have the internet!

Our hotel's internet went down for a few days so I wanted to get these pictures up!

Ry and Stuff

So in addition to playing in the fountains last night, we started the day with a trip out to Del Valle. We visited KB Homes and the houses were gorgeous. But on the way out we noticed that the scenery had changed to a little "ghetto" and there weren't any stores or shopping nearby. I was blown away by the homes, but the neighborhood was already about 2 years old and I could tell already that some people weren't tending to their yards and there was some parking on the street. When we went to the playground and pool, a guy was putting graffiti on the kids playscape!

So on we went... My cousin Brette gave us some resale homes to drive by and as we were driving around, I saw a neighborhood that I wanted to go check out. As we drove through, we could tell it was a couple years old already because the trees were larger and the homes were immaculate. It was like driving through Pleasantville!

We learned that the subdivision is sold out (all except one lot) so we started looking into resale possibilities. I was excited to see several signs and we're going to look at those today. The community has a pool, clubhouse, kids playscape, and open green areas. It's just lovely and it has one of the best kids elementary schools nearby. DOUBLE COOL!

Ry is being an amazing, good girl. She's having so much fun and it's great that she gets to bond with her Pops a bit. As I'm typing, he's got her outside checking out birds and stuff. So cool.

Water Fountain Fun

There is this awesome park near down-town that has jumping fountains. It is SO MUCH FUN! It was about 80 degrees and Ryenne and her cousins had so much fun running around. At first the fountain scared her when it jumped up and then she was so into it.

More House Pictures

Here's another few pictures of houses.

We went to my cousin Brette's house for dinner and it was lots of fun. I think it's been about 15 years since I've seen Brette and Erin. I got to meet their husbands and kids and it was fun!!

More in Hutto

This is how green it is around here. There are wildflowers growing everywhere.

There's a picture of one of the model homes where it's a little girl's room. It took about 10 minutes to get her out of there. She just LOVED that girly room!

Houses in Hutto

This house was awesome! It's located in Hutto (The Hippo's!) about 25-30 minutes outside of Austin. The house was amazing and check out the backyard! The neighborhood has a pool, sidewalks, parks, and an elementary school and a middle school all within walking distance. AWESOME!

Texas!!

We're in Austin, Texas having a blast! It is WAY greener than I had anticipated and way prettier too. Yesterday was our first full day and we cruised around looking at housing communities. It's amazing what you can get here.

We rented a convertible! So much fun. The weather so far is very similar to Maui - kinda warm and a little humid. But every home has AC which is totally cool.

OK... enough rambling. Get ready for pictures!

ps) I MISS YOU PETER!!!!

Another Beach Day

It was a gorgeous day and Peter got off work at 4pm so me and Ry drove out to Lahaina and we met Peter at Longs and went to Baby Beach. It was like a lake! We had some sand toys - the bucket was a hit! - and Ry was a nakey swimming baby.

We all got wet and enjoyed the afternoon sun. It was perfect cause the water was so nice and warm after being heated through the day and the sun was warm but not so hot that I would burn.

Afterward, we got some grub at the Lahaina Cannery Mall. I got my favorite - lemon caper fish with fettucine. YUM! It was an awesome afternoon. Love the pics of Ryenne - especially the one where she's sticking out her tongue. She loved to taste the salty water.

Easter Hunt

Goodies she hunted for and put in her Easter basket!

Pretty Easter Baby

We celebrated "Easter Friday" today. Peter had the day off and we had a great family day. These pictures are actually from the other day when I really tried hard to get Ryenne to pose for me in her gorgeous Easter dress. She's going through a phase where once the camera comes out she says "NO!" and refuses to look. She doesn't seem to have that problem with the little camera!

So after my morning photo session, while Ry was napping, the Easter Rabbit came for a visit and left Ry chocolates to hunt for. She had such a great time! I got some really cute video and I'll post that later (takes forever to upload). We also had fun going outside hunting for chickens to shoot with the paintball gun. I know... sounds harsh but it's lots of fun! haha

Lucky girl Ry-Ry got to go to the beach two days in a row! She loves the sand and water.

Ultrasound and Peeps!

Yesterday we went for our 13 week check up and Dr. DeLisa put the doppler on my tummy and couldn't find a heartbeat. He looked for about 3 minutes and said "I think we need to whip out the ultrasound machine!". Hey... can't turn that down! So he put the gel stuff on my tummy and there was baby dancing around and moving like crazy! P-2 is already near my belly button - the uterus is huge so he/she has plenty of room to move around.

Today me and Ry came with Peter to work and we just hung out with Peter's parents and Landon. Ry had so much fun! She got to feed the guinea pig and rabbit and jumped on the trampoline.

She kept taking off her diaper, so I put her on the potty and she went peeps! She did it twice and she was so proud of herself. She liked flushing the toilet too. I'm so proud of her. I think today on the way home we'll stop by Wal-Mart and get a training seat for the big toilet. She thinks the kid toilet is a toy. hahaha

Eensie Spiders

Cute Wet Piggie Toes

Darnit! Photobucket deleted this video saying it went against their terms of service. Since when does a cute baby in diaper and hat violate terms of service? ARGH!

Got a Card Reader!

A coupon from Office Max came just in time! Got a great card reader for $10! WooHoo!

Here's some pictures from the last couple of weeks. Lots of cute things. The gas one I just had to throw in there. That's from last week and the prices went up again!

Our Disastrous First Night

This morning I decided that it's time for Ryenne to stop nursing and to not sleep in our bed anymore. Night after night, morning after morning she attacks my poor boobies and I have been losing so much sleep. I wake up every morning exhausted on my 10" of bed space that I have (since she tends to move diagonal).

So all day when she asked for "Booboo" I offered a cup or bottle of milk, water, or juice. She did pretty good. Only a couple of fits. I set up the portacrib in her room and showed it to her. She looked excited!

Then nap time came... I put in her bed and BOOM - threw up on herself. Changed the blanket and put her back down. She figured out how to climb out, and repeatedly did so. After two hours of putting her back in bed, she FINALLY went down for her nap. Tired, I snuck out of the room, turned off the tv in the living room, drank some water, and went into my room. I crashed onto the bed and just as I close my eyes into sleep, "Mama! Mama!". She had woken up after only a 20 minute nap.

I got up and hugged her and told her what a good girl she was for sleeping in her own bed.

Fast forward to night time and she eats dinner, takes a bath, has a little TV time, and then a story. I tell her it's Ny Ny time and she points to my bed and says "Mommy bed!" and I tell her No... she has to sleep in her bed. Put her in, CRYING, climbing out of the crib. Repeat putting her back. Throw Up. Turn on the lights and change her and the bedding again. Now I'm nervous cause this is the last blanket that I have for her. Put her back in, kiss her, and tell her good night.

More crying. Then.... throw up again. This was the doozie. The bedding was completely soaked through and the portacrib mattress had to be washed.

She was stoked going running to Daddy to be 'saved'. I took the pad outside and rinsed it off. No more blankets. No more bedding. Wet bed that needs to dry. Boy did she know how to work it!

Now it's 11pm and I'm ready for bed. She's sleeping on the couch with Peter and I think I'm going to leave her there so I can get some snoozin on!

12 Weeks

Well... the first trimester is officially OVER!!! YAHOOOOO !!!! That thrills me beyond measure as I'm hoping to start feeling better soon.

Ryenne has a little cold and isn't sleeping well. She's tired. I'm tired. But she's being good and she gets a thrill out of her saline nose spray. She says "Nose Medicine" and sticks it up her nose. It's pretty funny.

I've got everything all set to go visit my parents next month. I'm so excited! I tell Ry everyday that we're going to ride an airplane and she gets excited. I'm totally stoked to be flying down to Austin, Texas to go check it out with my dad. Hopefully we'll move from Maui shortly after P-2 is born.

That's all the updates for now. No new pictures - need to buy a new card reader.
